Busting myths about giftedness
- Giftedness does not easily translate into high academic achievement and/or general successfulness in life.
- Gifted individuals are not immune (giftedness and learning disabilities) from learning disabilities, psychological difficulties, or physical diseases.
- Gifted individuals benefit from self-directed learning in an area of passion.
- Gifted individuals experience life more intensely.
Addressing, supporting and respecting the unique needs of gifted individuals is our moral duty as a humane society.
